Metrolink construction has started on the airport extension adjacent to Jackson’s Boat in South Manchester. Piling is in progress which will provide a base for the bridge over the Mersey and the ramp that will lead up to the bridge. As part of the works the south footpath of the River Mersey has been closed and a diversion set up over the footbridge and along the northern bank.
