On Sunday 26th June 2011 we held Rocket Jam Showcase – an all acoustic music event hosted by Rocket Jam’s Phill Platt and friends featuring some of the best acoustic acts from around Manchester.

On Saturday 11th June 2011 Jackson’s Boat was proud to present Flixton Brass Band in a family friendly, flag waving evening concert of patriotic favourites.

Unfortunately the Great British weather wasn’t kind so we had to move the event from the outdoor stage to the cover of the marquee – but the rain didn’t manage to damped the spirits. The band we on top form as usual so the event was a great sucess and we hope to do something similar next year.

Fun Dog Show 23rd April 2011 – Pictures

The first fun dog show of the year was Easter Saturday 23rd April 2011. It was our most sucessfull yet with over 90 dogs taking part and over £550 raised for the RSPCA. I will post the results in the next few weeks.

There will be another one on Saturday 18th June and then the final one of the season will be Saturday 10th September.

Registration will start from 10:30 with the classes from about 11.

There’ll be the normal classes such as waggiest tail, treat catcher and Dog Olympics – more details will be available nearer the time. This year’s shows have proved extremely popular – so we’re hoping to build on that success next year and raise lots of money for the RSPCA. Hopefully the weather will be better as well!

Jacksonbury 2010

Jacksonbury 2010 was held on 21st August 2010. The weather just about held off so we got a good crowd and a good atmosphere. The bands/acts/DJs were diverse but superb and went down well. Clint Boon not surprisingly got a particularly good reception. Roll on 2011…..

Bike Barn Charity Ride – Southport to Jackson’s Boat 2010

14th August 2010 was the date of the first Bike Barn Charity Bike Ride from Southport to Jackson’s Boat, Sale.

18 riders – many who hadn’t got on a bike in years – left Southport at about eleven and followed the Trans Pennine Trail eastwards back to Sale.

A good 60 miles, 8 hours(ish) and three pubs later everyone made it back in more or less on piece. The rain held off all day.

£1000 was raised for the Chidren’s Adventure Farm Trust – a local charity – providing holidays and activities for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the Northwest. Functions at Jackson’s Boat

We hold all kinds of functions and events at Jackson’s Boat throughout the year. From birthdays weddings and christenings to corporate BBQs, football matches and festivals.

In the Summer we use all types of marquees to make the most of our countryside location and our large grounds and can cater for upto 1000 people. During the winter we host smaller functions in the pub itself.
